NOTICE OF REFERENDUMS

City of Clermont

Notice is hereby given of a referendum to be on the ballot of the Clermont Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
The following questions or propositions will be decided by the qualified voters of the City of Clermont.

CHARTER AMENDMENT 1
COUNCIL TERM LIMITS
 

Currently, the City Charter does not limit the number of terms a person may serve on the Council. A yes vote for this amendment would, after the effective date of the amendment, limit a person to four consecutive two-year terms.  A no vote will reject the amendment.   
 

CHARTER AMENDMENT 2
COUNCIL RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS 
 

Currently, the City Charter does not require a candidate for a seat on the Council to be a resident of the City for any set period prior to qualifying as a candidate. A yes vote for this amendment would provide that a candidate shall be a qualified elector of the City for a minimum of eighteen (18) months prior to the date of qualification as a candidate. A no vote will reject the amendment.  

The complete referendum Ordinance No. 2019-22 is available for inspection in the City Clerk’s office of City Hall, 685 W. Montrose Street, Clermont.

Por la presente se hace notificación sobre un referéndum que se incluirá en el voto de la Elección Municipal de Clermont del 5 de noviembre de 2019.

La siguientes preguntas o propuestas serán decididas por los votantes calificados de la Cuidad de Clermont.

ENMIENDA 1 A LA CARTA 
LIMITES DE TÉRMINOS DEL CONSEJO

Actualmente, la Carta de la Cuidad no limita el numero de periodos que una persona puede servir en el Consejo.  Un voto si para esta enmienda, después de la fecha de vigencia de la enmienda, limitaría a la persona a cuatro periodos consecutivos de dos años.  Un voto no rechazaría la enmienda.

ENMIENDA 2 A LA CARTA
REQUISITOS DE RESIDENCIA PARA LOS CONSEJEROS

Actualmente, La Carta de la Cuidad no requiere que un candidato para una posición en el Consejo sea residente de la Cuidad por un periodo de tiempo establecido antes de calificar como candidato.  Un voto si para esta enmienda establecería que un candidato debe ser un elector calificado de la Cuidad por un mínimo de dieciocho meses (18 meses) antes de la fecha de calificación como candidato.  Un voto no rechazaría la enmienda.

La Ordenanza de Referéndum completa No. 2019-22 esta disponible para ser inspeccionada en las oficinas de la Actuario de la Cuidad, en City Hall, 685 W. Montrose Street, Clermont.
