About the city's Master Plan
In 2015, the Clermont City Council approved a Master Plan that will serve as a blueprint for the city's future during the next five, 10 and 20 years.
The Master Plan offers an exciting view of the future of Clermont, the Choice of Champions. While much of the focus is on the Downtown-Waterfront District, the Master Plan offers insights on how to keep the growing city connected and how to protect the very charms that have drawn hundreds of thousands to this internationally-recognized city that is one of the nation's top places to live and also a training ground for the world's elite athletes.
Like any plan, it is meant to be a guide and is intended to adapt to changing circumstances. It is the next step in a process that started in 2013 with a series of visioning sessions in which more than 1,000 people from the community expressed their dreams for the future of Clermont.
The city then embraced a bold, new brand that identified Clermont as the Choice of Champions.
For many months after that, the team from GAI Consultants studied the research that came out of the visioning sessions and worked with city planners and other staff to create a strategic master plan that would enhance Clermont's many assets and charms -- especially in the downtown-waterfront district.

The improvements are conceptual in nature; as each is considered, a further level of design needs to be undertaken to define the project and confirm its purpose in implementing the vision.
